Impressions:

Yay for Bleach! Boo for ep.101. Yay for another Bounto vs Captain! Boo for the shit fight…Well, it’s really only the boos that count for this episode specifically, so yeah, the episode wasn’t that good. I know there are those who love the fillers, but I could never bring myself to love them, knowing how good Bleach was before them. It’s really quite sad to see such an awesome, high quality OP (with a song I’m still loving) immediately switch to the crappy start, middle and end of episode 101. No, almost all the episodes are like that now. I’m not going to complain that there are Bounto vs Captain fights, but I was expecting them to be like Captain vs Captain fights (ahh, remember Toushiro vs Gin, or Yoruichi vs Soi Fon?) I also want some Ichigo action now, which apparently I’ll get in the next episode (I doubt a filler battle including Ichigo will EVER become as good as Ichigo vs Kenpachi or Byakuya). Why can’t the fillers JUST END? I am soo goddamn sick of this, but rest assured, Bleach will continue as my number 2 all-time favourite show, and I will stick with it no matter how long the fillers are.

The reason this fight was shit was because both Baura and Mayuri seemed so weak! Yes, they did! I really expected more of Mayuri. During the lunge when Mayuri stabbed the Bounto, why didn’t it go straight through his head? You might think that Mayuri had been planning on capturing the Bounto to research him, but he only remembered NOT to kill him AFTER the lunge, which means there was no reason for him to miss. Only thing is, the script writers weren’t creative enough to come up with a better fight, so they had to make up some corny stuff where everything ‘misses’. Then there was also the shunpo. While Mayuri flashing around was cool, it took up too much time. There was also the end where Mayuri released his Bankai. The Jiro x Baura showdown was incredibly stupid. If Mayuri saw that it wasn’t working, he should’ve done something about it! A bit of variety please! Even when Baura lunged, Jiro continued to breathe into its mouth, which hadn’t been working in the first place! Why not aim for the Bounto himself?

More bad aspects: Ishida’s transformation into Sailor Quincy was probably the lowest of lows I’ve ever seen in Bleach. I though that outfit was something Ishida made from hand! And if the clothes really are a part of his battle accessory and Quincy bow, that’d be so incredibly retarded! That’s mahou shoujo stuff! Speaking of clothes, what about the old Bounto’s clothes and pocket fixing themselves when he absorbed the spirit particles? Are the clothes made of Bounto too now? Does absorbing spirit particles also clean up blood stains? Wow, I should get some, then I could clean that paint that I got on my shirt some time ago! Psh, so horrible. Why does everything have to be so naïve? At least Mayuri looked normal throughout the entire battle, and his sleeve didn’t magically return when he regenerated his arm. Anyway……next episode will hopefully be better and more thought out than this week’s. There’s Ichigo vs Kariya to look forward to again, as well as Ishida vs Yoshii (only 3 more Bounto!). The good thing about this is that they’re all signalling to the end of the fillers…

Plot Outline:

Well, not really much of a summary since it was all battle, and it’s pointless writing out all the details. Mayuri fights the old Bounto, and wins with his Bankai. Ichigo and the others continue to run around like idiots, though Ishida manages to find Yoshii.
